Silvertone Twin Twelve 1474 (1962)

1962 Silvertone Twin Twelve Model 1474 Electric Guitar Amplifier. Very scarce model, made one year only sold at local Sears Stores. This is a super clean example. With original, mint Jensen Alnico speakers. Ten tube model (2 pairs 6L6GCs), 50 watts. Roars like a lion. Reverb is pretty weak, a common fault with all these piezo-electric models but the tremolo is deep and square with a unique bell-like ring. Original speaker chokes in place. Out of spec, leaky caps replaced. The original cardboard baffle has been replaced with 1/4 inch baltic ply, which has made a huge improvement. Original baffle available on request. Makes your guitar very touch sensitive fun to play sounds totally amazing. Whatever sound you desire from nice clean/bright or overdrive/sustain. Arguably the best model Silvertone amp ever made. The 1474 is loud, bright and articulate, a perfect pedal platform. It sports its original pair of tasty Alnico Jensens, 4 6L6, tremolo.
